I am a seasoned data science executive that currently works as an independent consultant. I am also a part-time professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and Digital Systems at the University of São Paulo (USP) where I teach, among other courses, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I received my Ph.D. degree in 2001 from COPPE/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. From 2010 to 2012, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Texas at Austin. In my academic career, I have published over than 100 scientific papers on data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. I have been listed among the top 2% of the most influential scientists of the world by Stanford University and the Public Library of Science (2019-2021).
